“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing; the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” Viktor Frankl
In a nutshell, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a field of research that simulates human capabilities.
Google Search Engine is a form of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Google is the most powerful computer power n the world with AI computer platform running on 100 million servers.
What does it mean to you? It means that AI helps you make important life decisions. For example, what yoga studio or what Toastmasters club you will go to. And even, what person will you be matched with on a dating site.
In my experience, it can work brilliantly! I’m grateful to AI for matching me with my first Yoga Studio, my Toastmasters club, and my boyfriend.
And yes, there is no link for “my boyfriend”! Why? Let’s keep my boyfriend out of this post. Why? I’m still in charge of my decisions. And so are you!
Let’s not panic about AI. AI is helpful. Yet, it can be too helpful. Why? Because everyone wants to sell you something, which means everyone programs their AI to sell you something. Yet, no one can force you to buy anything. You still have the free will and the power of choice.
Let’s not relax though. AI uses latest research in neuroscience, in human behavior, and it’s programmed, most of the time, to sell us something, or at least, get our attention. You need to be aware of it, be smart about that knowledge, and discipline yourself. Developing self-awareness aka mindfulness is the key.
This article started by a quote from Viktor Frankl.
Viktor Frankl was able to be in charge of his attitude and his decisions in a concentration camp. How? He had a purpose! He saw meaning in his life!
If you have a purpose, if you write it down and read it every morning, you will see the reason to discipline your mind. You’ll have the reason to wake up happy, start your day with a song (or a prayer) instead of checking your email. Yes, do not check your emails for at least 50 min after you wake up. Why? Do you want to be in charge of your life? You are intelligent! Yes, you have human intelligence! Let’s be friends with AI, but let’s be friends with ourselves as well.
Questions to consider:
- What is your morning routine?
- What is your perfect day looks like?
- What can you do today to get closer to your dreams?
